The rental period shall commence at 4.00pm on the first day of the rental period and finish at 10.00am on the final day. The Client agrees to be a considerate tenant and to take good care of the Property. The accommodation should be left in a clean and tidy state, although the Owner reserves the right to make a deduction from the security deposit to cover cleaning costs. If it is your intention NOT to clean the gite on the day of departure, then you can make prior arrangements with the Owner for local hired help to clean the gite on your behalf. The charge for this is 40 euros. The Client also agrees to be a considerate neighbour to other nearby residents. Please note there is a no-smoking policy in the house. The Client acquires no right whatsoever over the Property excepting occupation as a holiday let for the period booked. The Client should not sub-let the Property. The Client shall report to the Owner without delay any defects in the Property or breakdown in any equipment and repairs and/or replacements will be made by the Owner as soon as possible. The Owner cannot be held responsible for failures beyond his control. Under no circumstances shall the Owner s liability to the Client exceed the amount paid to the Owner for the rental period. To reserve the Property, the Client should contact the owner to check availability. The Client should then complete and sign the Booking Form and, if payment of deposit has not already been made by bank transfer, this should accompany the Booking Form and be returned to the Owner, along with post-dated cheque for balance of holiday monies. The Booking Form will contain the numbers and names of the people forming the Client s party. In the event that the number of people in the party is increased, the Owner reserves the right to amend charges appropriately. Following receipt of the Booking Form and deposit, the Owner will confirm the reservation. This is the formal acceptance of the booking. A security deposit of 100 per property is required in case of, for example, damage to the Property or its contents. However, the sum reserved by this clause shall not limit the Client s liability to the Owner. The Owner will account to the Client for the security deposit and refund the balance due within 2 weeks after the end of the rental period. In the event that the security deposit is to be returned to the Client in full, the Owner will destroy the cheque. In the event of a cancellation, refunds will only be made if the Owner is able to re-let the rental period. The Client is strongly recommended therefore to take out necessary insurance to cover for such eventuality along with cover for personal belongings, pubMesnard. For insurance purposes only those people booked in to a gite will be allowed on the site. That is to say no invited guests without the written consent of the owners. The bringing of pets on to the Property is forbidden except with the written consent of the Owner. This contract shall be governed by English law in every particular including formation and interpretation and shall be deemed to have been compiled in England. Any proceedings arising out of or in connection with this contract may be brought in any court of competent jurisdiction in England.
